OPA (Orange Pekoe 'A') is a big leaf tea from Uva region of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The eastern mountain slopes of Sri Lanka are exposed to the winds of both North East and South West monsoons, giving it a special character and aroma. It is cultivated at altitudes between 3,500 feet - 5,000 feet. The mid-high elevation area produces a light yellow-orange color, with a fruity note and soft, sweet after taste.
